Sponsorship
Lorraine Lea Linen is proud to sponsor netball, the highest female participation sport in both Australia and New Zealand, at all levels of the game.
As a member of the sponsor family of Netball Australia we specifically sponsor the development of national umpires through the Lorraine Lea Linen Umpire Development Program, and assist in the growth of Netball Australia’s flagship junior development program, San Remo NetSetGO! We have also become an official sponsor of the world champion Australian Netball Diamonds.
Netball Australia’s Chief Commercial Manager, Marne Fechner said the partnership was a natural fit for Australia’s leading women’s sport.
“The netball community benefits through greater awareness of this highly-respected party plan organisation that offers women the opportunity to earn a good income while still being there for their families.”
Conversely, Lorraine Lea Linen will benefit from increased awareness as Netball Australia embarks on its first-ever brand campaign, aimed at generating positive association with the sport. Watch the ‘Ode to Netball’ television commercial.
Additionally we are delighted to be a sponsor of the ANZ Championship. With 5 teams from Australia and 5 teams from New Zealand, this exciting trans-Tasman competition brings together the world’s best netballers.

Australian Netball Diamonds – on a roll!
The Australian Netball Diamonds have continued their winning ways beating arch rivals, the Silver Ferns, in Adelaide on 29th August.
In an intensely close game, the Diamonds fought back from being one goal down at the three-quarter mark to win by 5 goals, 48-43. The Diamonds then crossed the Tasman to play against the Ferns on their home turf in the New World International Test series. In Wellington on 2nd September, the Ferns rose to the occasion with a whopping 19 goal win over the Diamonds (59-40). However, the Diamonds bounced back in the Auckland final on 5th September, winning 46-40. This means theirs will be first name to go on the Constellation Cup - a new trophy awarded each year to the country that wins the most international Tests between the Australian Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver Ferns. Australian captain, Sharelle McMahon, will soon lead a team of 12 netballers to Delhi for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in October. While Sharelle will be competing in her fourth Commonwealth Games, the team also includes five members who competed at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne four years ago. No doubt they will be aiming to reverse that outcome when they fell agonisingly short of gold, beaten in the final game against New Zealand by five goals.
You can show your support for the Diamonds with our fabulous range of netball merchandise, including Diamond Girl quilt cover set, coral fleece throw and towel, and Diamonds towel.
