Manager Success Stories
We're very proud of the achievements of ALL women and men in our management team. Here's an insight into just a few of their experiences in their Lorraine Lea Linen career path.
Racheal Mitchelson, Senior District Manager, TAS
I made the move to start my own linen business 8 years ago and boy, it has changed my life. I joined to get out of the house and back into the real world after having my first son, and to earn a little bit of extra money to enable me to buy the little luxuries in life (without the guilt). Now I feel I have the best of both worlds: more income for those little luxuries, and I work with the balance of my time being spent on the important things in life - family, fun and leisure.
I look back over my 8 years of being a linen Consultant/Manager and the things that pop into my mind straight away are the happy Hosts I have met, the beautiful Consultants I work with, and the opportunities this business has given me. Whether it be offering the business to enable them to live a better life, or getting them a discount by hosting a party, I love it all.
Over 2 years ago my husband and I took on the role of owner-builder and built our gorgeous dream home. With both of us running our own businessrd, we were able to work in times for my ‘handy hubby’ to spend tinkering away at ‘the block’. When we decided to build, my first input was that I wanted an in-ground pool. Brian wasn’t keen, saying, “If you want a pool, you pay for it.” Easy. With the money I had saved up I had enough to buy the 8.5 x 4.5m pool. We have had 2 summers in it now and it is great. The kids love it and we have had some great times with friends around the BBQ/pool. Plus, Brian swims in it more than me!
Holidays are something that we now enjoy regularly. We have just come home from an 11-night cruise around Vanuatu. This was the most fantastic family holiday we have had and we have already checked out the next one. Of course, being a Manager with LLL has given me many travelling experiences that I will never forget. And it’s the best feeling to take your own family on a holiday that you have paid for."
Sharon Delaney, Senior District Manager, QLD
"My background is marketing. Before Lorraine Lea I worked in consulting firms and also as the Marketing Manager of a large, national company. For over 15 years my husband and I owned the largest corporate dealership for Optus in Australia.
At first, LLL was a short-term option for me. I thought I’d do a few parties and earn a bit of money, while working out what I wanted to do. I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it – but how couldn’t I? You really can’t call going to a party ‘working’. It is fun and social. You get to meet beautiful people and make them feel great by giving them lots and lots of free linen. And I get to earn great money at the same time! But the best thing about LLL is the wonderful people I get to work with – in my own team, the Queensland Managers, Managers from around the country and, of course, the Support Centre staff.
LLL is actually like owning your own business, but without the stress of managing cashflows, stock management, staffing, insurances, etc. etc. And we have the added bonus of the amazing training and support from the company and from our uplines and colleagues. It really is the best of both worlds!
My definition of ‘success’ is achieving what YOU want to achieve – whether that be in your personal life or your business. And so I reckon LLL is full of successful people!"
Lynne Jansson, District Manager, NSW
"Do you ever look back on decisions you have made in life and think someone above must have been looking after you, because it turned out to be the best decision you ever made?
I started back in October 1999 and it was the best decision I ever made. I am so grateful every day for what it has brought to my life and my family life.
I was on maternity leave with my third son and didn't want to return to full-time work, which would have meant putting my boys in full-time care. If I could just earn $50 a week we would survive and I would get to raise my boys. How wrong was I? $50! Are you kidding! Consultants with Lorraine Lea earn so much more. They did tell me; I just didn't believe it. Full-time income for part-time hours. Unreal.
Uluru, Phuket, Hawaii and Vietnam. I now have a passport (you should see the stamps in it), a career, a company car and a lifestyle many only dream about. I am still raising my boys and can be there for any event I want at school or on weekends. Why did I wait so long to do this?"
