Party for Kids with Cancer® Update
Miracles really do happen...this year’s Party for Kids with Cancer® campaign is on track to be another great result! Last year $115,000 was raised for Melbourne’s Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and this year we are hoping to raise even more for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia.
During the campaign (14th - 31st August), our Consultants have been busy holding parties from which the Hosts’ party credits and the Consultants’ party profits are donated. Many of our Managers and Consultants around Australia and New Zealand have also held special fundraising events, such as a Teddy Bear’s Picnic held in Cairns, to raise additional funds towards a Miracle Makeover of the Children’s Haematology and Oncology Centre at the Adelaide hospital. The funds will be used to provide treatment sofas plus bedside and waiting room chairs to make treatment more comfortable for the centre’s young patients and their families.
But it is not all serious; the funds will also provide a variety of ‘fun’ items such as Playstation3, comfy child-sized tables and chairs, electronic smartboards, data projectors, and electronic graffiti boards to three areas within the centre - the Children’s Play Room, the Adolescent Lounge and the Kid’s Zone Waiting Room.
Thanks to all our Hosts, Consultants and customers who have contributed to this cause. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Spring Clean Your Linen Closet
Spring is a great time to refresh the home with gorgeous new linen, but how do you make room in your linen closet? It really is simple and not too time-consuming, and once you’ve finished you will feel incredibly well-organised. Here’s how…
- Take everything out of the closet and use the floor of a nearby bedroom to separate items into categories such as bed linen, towels, table linen, knitting supplies, sewing kit and so on.
- Check the state of your linen as you go, keeping only the items that match your décor and that you wouldn’t be embarrassed for your mum to see.
- Remember the golden rule: store items closest to where they'll be used. If you are storing seasonal bedding, such as winter doona/duvets covers, remember that items made of natural fibres should never be stored in plastic bags.
- Make a plan of what will be stored on each shelf, with frequency of use the most important consideration.
- Wipe off the shelves and, if necessary, line them with paper.
- Keep everything in sight. As you return items to shelves, ensure that everything is visible to eliminate frustrating searches.
- Finish off with a nice lavender sachet or two, to make all your linen smell great.
