party for kids with cancerMiracles will Happen!

14th - 31st August, 2010

Lorraine Lea Linen established the Party for Kids with Cancer® fund in honour of the company’s founder, Peter Ryan, who lost his battle with cancer in 1999. A different hospital is selected as the recipient of the funds each year, and the 2010 recipient is the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia, which will use the funds for a Miracle Makeover of the Children’s Haematology and Oncology Centre.

In line with our aim of improving the lives of children and young people with cancer, the Miracle Makeover funds will provide treatment sofas plus bedside and waiting room chairs to make treatment more comfortable for the centre’s young patients and their families. But it is not all serious; the funds will also provide a variety of ‘fun' items such as Playstation3, comfy child-sized tables and chairs, electronic smartboards, data projectors, and electronic graffiti boards to three areas within the centre - the Children’s Play Room, the Adolescent Lounge and the Kid’s Zone Waiting Room.

Find out more about Party for Kids with Cancer® and how you can donate to the cause or book a party during the campaign.

alyshaThe Perfect Bridal Bed!

The prime spring wedding season is almost upon us! By hosting a Lorraine Lea bridal shower with average party sales & bookings and 10 guests, your happy couple could start married life in the perfect bed, for only A$12.35 / NZ$16.30 per guest.

With our high party average of $1,000 and 2 new party bookings, the bride-to-be will receive party credits to the value of 10% of guest sales plus $10 for each booking (that’s $120 worth), and she’ll also qualify to receive 2 items at ½ price! It all adds up to a gorgeous new bedroom look for a fraction of the retail price.

For example, this beautiful Alysha bedroom package (pictured right) - containing Queen Quilt Cover Set, co-ordinating percale sheets and standard percale pillowcases, euro cases, and 1 accessory cushion and cover - would normally cost A$355 / NZ$432, but with an average party you would buy it for only A$123.50 / NZ$163.00. That’s about the same as the quilt cover set normally costs!

anz championship finals seriesANZ Championship Final - a classic!

10 teams, 17 weeks, 69 matches and just one winner… it all comes down to this!

The stage is set for a classic showdown in the Grand Final of the 2010 ANZ Championship.

The Adelaide Thunderbirds caused a major upset with their emphatic win against the previously unbeaten NSW Swifts in the first Semi-Final. Meanwhile, in the second Semi-Final at Auckland’s Vector Arena, the First Windows Waikato / Bay of Plenty Magic Waikato proved superior to their compatriot rivals, the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel.

The Preliminary Final saw another massive upset, with the WBOP Magic toppling minor premiers NSW Swifts before a full-house at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.

After finishing 3rd in 2008 and 2nd in 2009, the Thunderbirds now have their eyes firmly set on being crowned 2010 ANZ Champions in year three of the world's hottest netball league. They have the home advantage and will be supported by a sell-out crowd at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Sunday, 11th July. First, though, they will need to stop the pumped-up Kiwi team.

Both sides have experienced the pain of being runners-up in the Grand Final. And both have perfectly timed their rise to top form; it’s guaranteed to be a classic contest.

Tickets to the Grand Final sold out in just 12 minutes, but you can catch all the action on Network Ten (TEN and ONE) in Australia AND Sky Sport in New Zealand – check your local programming guide for details.
