Products Faq

Q. Are Lorraine Lea party plan products made in Australia?
A. A large percentage of our linen and manchester range is made in Australia and wherever possible we source products with Australian content.

Q. Are the products that Lorraine Lea party plan Consultants sell exclusive to the company?
A. Wherever possible we source exclusive product. In fact, currently, about 65% of our range is made especially for us, with that percentage constantly increasing.

Q. Will your fitted sheets fit a deeper style mattress?
A. Our fitted sheets have a 35cm depth which will suit most of the new deeper mattresses. We also have a 40cm deep sheet that is available in selected sizes and colours.

Q. What is Percale?
A. Percale is a fine weave poly/cotton fabric that is made from high quality combed cotton with more than 225 threads to each 10 square centimetres. The fineness of the cloth means that it has an extremely soft feel, while the blend of polyester and cotton gives the durability and easy care properties. In fact, Lorraine Lea Linen percale sheets are 250-thread count.

Q. Will I have to iron the 100% cotton sheets?
A. Our 100% cotton sheets do have a crease-resistant treatment, but a light iron may be required if necessary.

Q. Can I use a valance on my bed if it has an end or iron legs?
A. All of our valances, plain and printed, have splits in the ends and will fit beds with ends.

Q. What size tablecloth will I need for my table?
A. The easiest way to estimate what size tablecloth you will need is by how many chairs will fit around the table. Eg. 2 chairs on each side plus 1 at each end is a 4-6 seater. If you can fit a third chair at the side you will need a 6-8. (it doesn't matter whether you have that third chair or not, just whether it will fit.)

Q. Will my tablecloth stain?
A. Some of our tablecloths are stain resistant. None of them are stain proof. Most stains, such as wine, non-oily food etc will come out with washing.

Q. Do I have to iron my tablecloth?
A. Polyester tablecloths can generally go from the line to the table without ironing by removing the cloth prior to the spin cycle and drip-drying. Cotton tablecloths will require some ironing. (When you first take your new tablecloth from its packet the packaging creases will require ironing).

Q. What is the best way to launder a towel?
A. Machine wash in warm water with a mild soap and line dry or tumble dry on low. Always shake the towels when dry to puff up the terry fibres. Always wash dark colours separately. Do not bleach.

Q. Can I use fabric softener on my towels?
A. Washing with heavily concentrated fabric softeners can reduce the absorbency of the towel by building up a fine water-resistant layer on the fibres. Lorraine Lea Collection towels will retain their soft texture without the use of fabric softeners.

Q. What happens if there is a pulled thread on my towel?
A. The Lorraine Lea towels are woven not knitted, any pulled threads can simply be cut off without doing any damage to the towel.

Q. Will a wool quilt keep me warm?
A. Wool is a natural insulator and gives the best thermal comfort by efficiently regulating body temperatures throughout the night. In winter, the wool fibres trap and retain the air giving natural warmth. In summer, the wool fibres absorb body moisture that dissipates into the air so you don't feel hot and clammy.

Q. Will my pillow go flat?
A. The Lorraine Lea Collection posture sleep pillows have a foam core designed to help keep the shape of the pillow as well as giving extra support. Our pillows have a polyester non-allergenic fill.

Q. Can a spilt drink leak through a table protector?
A. Our table protector is of the highest quality and liquid or spillages will not leak through. Unlike other protectors that are quilted where every needle hole allows leakage and spillage to soak through to the table.

Q. Are Lorraine Lea baby products safe?
A. When sourcing our nursery range we go to great lengths to ensure all safety precautions are met.

Q. I need some assistance with a Lorraine Lea Linen product I had delivered to me recently. Who should I contact?
